Hi. I am a life-long avid gardener in my 40's. I moved here to Virginia 10 years ago from New Jersey, but am still unfamiliar with some of the wildflowers. So many more things overwinter here, in the warmer climate, than in NJ, too!
I worked as a floral designer in flower shops, and in garden centers for years. Also volunteered in the Norfolk Botanical Gardens (and was allowed to go in at any time and prune the rose garden without supervision).
I am now limited to smaller gardening projects in my own yard (due to an old shoulder injury) and am lucky to have found a sweet landscaper who finds it amusing when I ask him to mow around the unidentified things that sprout up here and there!
