As I am failing my third attempt to grow fenugreek I wonder what went wrong.

I grow them indoors in a yogurt-container-turned-planter with potting mix and artificial lighting. The first two times around they grew to about 2 inches tall with sparse leaves and then just wilted away. This time around about 1 inch tall they are already dying three weeks after they sprouted. If I could put my finger on a turning point, it's probably last week when I watered too much. There are small holes at the bottom of the yogurt container but don't always let out all extra liquid. I later poured out a cup of liquid from the container.
