I have been noticing that my black sage is becoming pale. It has been looking dryer by the day. Near it is a Cleveland sage which is super healthy and busy. I planted the black sage in the last 8 months. The Cleveland sage was planted about 2 years ago. (And last winter I trimmed it back even.)

Is it lacking nutrients? It is in the same soil as the cleveland sage and a bunch of wild flowers. The soil is clayey but water doesn't stagnate.

The one marked in red is the black sage and the green one is healthy.
