From what I am picturing in my head you are just swapping the soil and trimming the roots as necessary and then placing it back in its original spot. If the soil is not frozen stiff then there shouldn't be a problem as you won't have the plant inside for more than an hour. My worry at this point is it is almost spring and the plant will want to become active which is not a good time to repot or prune roots. | |
