It's easier to shape wood before it gets a big diameter. As for the Jade, they will branch where you pinch out a growing end, You can start to shape it whenever you want, The root training won't be as involved as it will with a woody plant. But my question is more a general one, since I read that you should start the trees in a normal pot and switch to a bonsai pot if the trees are health/old/big enough. But I am totally unsure when they have reached this point :/ | |
