comment How often do mower blades need to be sharpened?
I have a reel mower and never use any "product" on my lawn. The two are by no means incompatible. I have an acre and a half and the reel mower is not motorized.

comment Could the roots from an apple tree 10m away from my house be causing structural problems?
as a general rule of thumb, the rootball is the same size as the branches. Do you have branches touching the house, or that would touch the house if you weren't cutting them back?

comment My lawn has many kinds of grass, with no Bermuda. How can I get a consistent look?
Do you know why the types are different? Do you have a shady part and a sunny part, or a dry part and a wet part, or do you think the previous owner just bought random grass seed every few years and scattered it in different places at different times?

comment Is there an enzyme/compound I can use to quickly rot fallen fruit?
and if you do intend to do something with the fruit you pick, it's even more important to keep the ground under it clear. Our cherries were so wormy until we learned to clear away fallen fruit - then we not only had a nicer lawn, the next year we had nicer cherries!
