What to look for in a robotic lawnmower? No wireless access so Skynet can't take it over. |

Effective weed elimination along paved driveway @itsmatt I bought a flame weeder after your recommendation. I've never had so much fun killing weeds! |

Does Dawn dishwashing detergent kill plants (shrubs & flowers)? I've used a mixture of 2 tsp. dish detergent (don't remember brand name), 2 tsp. neem oil, and 1 gallon of water for pest control. I apply it to the foliage using a garden sprayer. The plants don't seem to mind, and it helps keep the bugs away. |

Effective weed elimination along paved driveway The fence has cedar 2"x2" posts. I've never used a flame weeder before - would the post material pose a problem, or is it a short enough duration sweep that solid wood would not be effective? |

Effective weed elimination along paved driveway I've got a similar situation, but along a chicken-wire fence that surrounds my garden. Interested to see a good response that is not susceptible to run-off. |

What's causing the bark on my maple sapling to split? Hmmm... maybe I won't buy at the nursery I got it from again. It was already staked like that in a 10 gallon bucket when I bought it. I don't think there's any way the trunk got damaged in transit or planting either. I was very careful and only picked it up by the root ball. |

What is this opening on the bottom of my tomato plant's stem? I've got the same problem with my second batch of tomato starts this year. Did your plants end up dying or did they continue to grow? I'd plant mine out, but I'm afraid there's the possibility that the damage could spread if it's bacterial or fungal in cause. I'd rather not get any contamination in my garden soil if possible. |

How do I get rid of ducks from my backyard? -1: If you're anywhere in the US, you need a duck stamp to hunt ducks. Shooting the birds with a BB gun or a pellet rifle is even more irresponsible in my opinion, because you run the possibility of seriously wounding them without putting them out of their misery. |

How to flatten chicken wire? When I put up my garden fence, I used chicken wire with 2"x2" cedar stakes. I would recommend a staple gun with stainless or galvanized staples for attaching the chicken wire. That way you can stretch the wire tight between the stakes and then staple it to keep it stretched. The curl won't be apparent at all if you get it tight enough. |

plant bottom watering system Agreed. My 275 gallon rain barrel only gets between 1-2 psi at the base, but it will drain out completely through a garden hose in several hours. |
