Soil-less raised garden bed with straw Thanks for info. I really appreciate it. I'll be keeping a watch, but I think it should be OK once I pull the grass and put in the weed block. The soil beneath the bed is soft enough for the roots to push through. |

Soil-less raised garden bed with straw Thanks for your answer. The card board was used primarily as a weed blocker, was not very thick and well soaked. It is expected to break down. The soil below was prepared for drainage so I think that the corn should have enough space for the root system. I'll pull what I can and use a layer of weed blocker or paper. |
