I'm a jack of all trades. By day I sling code for EllisLab. By night I work on a pair of food related web apps: a recipe sharing community called Fridge to Food and an open source online farm market called Farm to Fridge. I'm on the board of the Bloomington Community Orchard and am a prospective member of the Dandelion Village.
In my spare time, I read a great deal about history, economics and politics. I have read tons of Science Fiction and watched more than I care to admit of the same. I, also, spend a great deal of time in the climbing gym, playing Ultimate Frisbee or on the trail. I deeply enjoy making music, but I'm not terribly good at it.

What herbaceous plants like acid soil, blueberries and white pine mulch? Awesome! That's a start, but do you know which of those do well with pine. Pine does more than just make the soil acidic ;). Whatever it does, the blueberries seem to love it, but I know a lot of things hate it. |

My second year garlic has flowers. Is it safe to eat? The bulb just before it flowers -- including the stalk -- is called the scape. It not only edible, but delicious, I frequently buy it from my farmer's market and make pesto of it. |

Is there a weedkiller I can use at the foot of hedges? I have a brand of weed killer that will not only kill your weeds, but it will fertilize your hedge... Mulch! /me broken record. |
