This plant is in a pot on a balcony. It is a perennial that survives below freezing temps. It produces small white flowers terminally from time to time. The plant needs little care. I would like the identification, and the owner has no idea.

Is there any way that you could provide a better picture of it? Either a closeup of the leaves or perhaps the flowers? Or could you describe the flowers? There are a lot of plants that I believe it could be. – Rene Mar 8 '12 at 14:30
Are there thorns? Are the petioles flattened to look like tiny leaves? – Grady Player Jun 15 '12 at 13:52
No. The petioles are straight and smooth. – jmusser Jun 16 '12 at 1:36
